Day 29—THE TRUE GOD

I John 5:18-20: "We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. 19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life."

John gives us seven awesome concepts that he has discussed throughout his letter and reinforces them again. For many modern day people who want to lessen the importance of sin, John completely destroys that idea. We are to NOT live in sin . . . end of story. For many modern day people who want to reject the presence of Satan, John completely destroys that idea. Satan's goal is to kill, steal, and destroy. Jesus says "I came to give you life abundantly." "And we are in Him who is true by being in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." Amen and Amen.

Heavenly Father, I praise You for Your protection and for sending Your Son to open my eyes to the truth. I pray that You keep me safe and grant me the wisdom to live according to Your will. Lord, thank You for the incredible assurance that because I am born of God, I am kept safe, and the evil one cannot touch my soul. As I walk through a world that lies under the power of the wicked one, please protect my mind, my heart, and my actions from the darkness around me. Thank You, Jesus, for coming to earth and giving me the spiritual understanding to know You, the only true God. I pray that I will remain deeply rooted in You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can live righteously and reflect Your eternal life to those around me. In Your holy name, Amen.
