Day 14 – JESUS TAKES AWAY OUR SINS

“I John 3:4-5: 4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin."

In the Old Testament, on the Day of Atonement, the priest would offer a sacrifice to cover the sins of the people. In the New Testament, Jesus became the perfect lamb of God who was sacrificed on the cross for the sins of the people past, present, and future. Jesus is the only person who never sinned. We all fall short. If we confess our sin God is gracious to forgive us. God is so loving and forgiving!

Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus, recognizing Your holiness and Your righteous standard. Lord, Your Word in 1 John 3:4 tells me that sin is lawlessness—a transgression of Your holy law. I confess that too often I have walked in my own way, cloaked in rebellion and sin, treating Your commands lightly. Father, I praise You for Your immense grace, as stated in 1 John 3:5, that You sent Your sinless Son, Jesus Christ, to earth. Thank You that He was manifested to take away my sins. I am humbled that while I was dead in my trespasses, You provided the way for me to be cleansed and made righteous in Your sight through His sacrificial death and resurrection. I ask that You help me to abide in Him and to live in obedience to Your Word. I turn from my sin and lawlessness, asking for the power of the Holy Spirit to transform my heart and mind. Because Christ is pure, I desire to purify myself and walk in righteousness, reflecting Your love in a world that is broken. Thank You that in Christ, there is no sin. I place my trust in Him as the only one who can remove the stain of my transgressions. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

The Lord Be Gracious Unto You. Pr Jenny
