Day 7 – BE LIKE JESUS – I John 2:3-6

“I John 2:3-6: 3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.”

We have four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke & John, telling us how Jesus lived so that we can follow His example and be more like Him. Jesus makes His relationship with His Father a priority. Jesus has time for those who come to Him. Jesus teaches others about God. Jesus offers love and forgiveness. Jesus is never in a hurry. Jesus models right behavior.

Heavenly Father, I thank You that I can have assurance in my relationship with You. Your Word tells me that I know You truly if I keep Your commandments. Lord, forgive me for the times I have claimed to know You but have acted in disobedience. Grant me the grace to obey Your word, so that Your love may be truly perfected in me. I desire to live in union with You, abiding in Your presence every moment. Help me to walk just as Jesus walked—with humility, love, and submission to Your will. I want to live in a way that demonstrates His life within me, so that all I say and do brings glory to Your name. I surrender my ways to You, relying on the Holy Spirit to strengthen me to walk in the light. In Jesus' name, Amen.
