Day 20 – THE GREATER POWER

I John 4:4-6: "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.”

Some view God and Satan as equal and opposing forces. God and Satan are not equal. God, as Creator, made all the angels—including Satan, a fallen angel. The Creator is clearly superior to his creation. God has given Satan some authority in this world for a time. But one day God will take back that power and punish Satan for eternity. The victory began when Jesus died on the cross. We must focus on God’s power and Jesus’ victory. The battle has already happened and God has already won!

Heavenly Father, we come before You in awe, celebrating that the Spirit who lives in us is greater than he who is in the world. You have overcome the darkness, and we anchor our identity in Your victorious truth. Because we belong to You, we recognize the voice of Your Spirit and reject the spirit of falsehood. Grant us unwavering discernment to navigate the deception around us. Keep our hearts firmly rooted in Your love, and let Your truth be our ultimate guide as we walk through this world together. Strengthen our unity, Lord, that we may stand as beacons of Your light. May our lives continually reflect the overcoming power of Your love, drawing others to the undeniable truth of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
